My most beloved, most wonderful, and closest canine friend, Keru, passed away tonight. Keru was with us for over 14 years. He was a wonderful dog, the epitome of a canine friend, one we will never see again. A dog who spent so much time with us, a traveler, the most wonderful dog in the world. He gave me so much joy, so much pride. He fought until the end. He lost to old age.

Just yesterday, I begged him to fight, to not let him go.

With Keru, history has passed, the most wonderful and most decorated Japanese terrier in the history of this breed. There will never be another like him.

Goodbye, my friend, goodbye, my son.

Run with other dogs over the rainbow bridge.

You will remain forever in our memories.
